Where?
You can take your recycling to Russell Transfer Station – it’s free! The address is 120 Florance Avenue, Russell (just on the way out of town).
Not all things can be recycled at the Transfer Station, and some things may be better off re-used – see our A – Z of Recycling for what you can do with each item!

Monday 7:30 AM – 1 PM
Tuesday 7:30 AM – 1 PM * (summer season only)
Wednesday 7:30 AM – 1 PM
Thursday 7:30 AM – 1 PM * (summer season only)
Friday 7:30 AM – 1 PM
Saturday 9 AM – 1 PM *
Sunday 9 AM – 1 PM *
* The above are summer season hours from 20 December – 13 February. Outside of summer season, the transfer station is closed Tuesdays and Thursdays. During January, the transfer station is open until 5 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Closed Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Anzac Day. Open until 3 PM on Easter Monday.
